Martin Luther King Day
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and Learning
Saturday, January 16, 2010 was City Mission Society’s 3rd annual Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr Day of Service and Learning. This event allowed groups and individuals to come together to honor Rev. King’s legacy in a positive way. We had an overwhelming response of 200 volunteers this year.
The program began at 9:00 a.m. with a kickoff ceremony at the United Parish in Brookline where we celebrated the Rev. Dr. King and his dream for a new world. Our day of service included a variety of hands-on service projects, and we concluded with a celebration of music and worship.
We invite individuals, congregations, and organizations to join City Mission Society in a day of celebration and service.
Make it a day on, not a day off!
